About Phil

Phil is a community focused Urban Planner, originating in the UK where he gained both a BA (Hons) in Sociology, and a Masters of Civic Design in Town & Regional Planning from the University of Liverpool, the only university with the Master of Civic Design award. His dissertation focus was on the socioeconomic impacts of Brexit, where he worked closely with the European Union, U.S. State Department, various levels of UK local government & private consultants.

He currently works as the Village Planner in the Village of Woodridge, IL, where he lead the first-ever Seven Bridges Restaurant Week, and is the Chairperson for the Village’s Census Complete Count Committee, a partnership between various government agencies & community groups focused on Hard-To-Count population outreach for Census 2020 operations.

In his spare time, Phil is a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador. Having long had an affinity for space exploration, Phil uses his presentation & public speaking skills to deliver informative and engaging activities to populations throughout the Chicagoland area.
